23.24 Adduction

• Passive adduction occurs passively due to gravity

• Active adduction requires two steps

  1. Scapulo-humeral locking by the teres major and triceps

  2. Scapulo-thoracic is hoisted by rhomboids and latissimus dorsi

     • This action is carried out by the contrattion of the rhomboids-teres major and latissimus dorsi-triceps
