23.18 Middle gleno-humeral ligament
Tensioned in external rotation and abduction and adduction up to 60
Limits external rotation when abduction is less than 60
Principle barrer against anterior dislocation when the arm in in netral rotation whatever the abduction (helped by the superior gleno-humeral ligament)
Barrier against external roation of abduction is less than 60(maximal at 45).
It is a secondary barrier with the inferior ligament against antero-internal dislocation when the arm is in external roation and abduction greater than 60.
- Has no role beyond 90\(^{\circ}\) (sliding upwards)
Secondary barrier with the superior ligament against inferior subluxation in adduction and external rotation.
